The Adventurers Ultimate Scavenger Hunt

What to expect

This is one of my favorite modules to teach.  Every class is truly different, and the level of excitement and energy from the students is always humbling.  We start by investigating a few amazing treasures I have picked up over my years of adventuring, then we send our adventurers on a scavenger hunt for items with certain characteristics.  As they bring them back, we try and teach as many interesting facts about each item as possible.

For example, adventurers may be sent to find something rough to the touch.  Let’s say they return with a pine cone.  We would start by noting and observing all of its characteristics and then begin teaching things like: Did you know you can use a pine cone to fairly accurately predict the weather, let me show you how.  Did you know that you can make an amazing animal feeder from a pine cone? Who wants to take this home and grow a tree? Let me show you how. And so on and so forth.

Who is this class for

I play this game with my adventurers, the younger and the older, all the time.  Younger adventurers take a bit more energy and help to find certain items, but I comfortably teach this class in preschools, daycares, elementary schools, high schools, and colleges.   Each student gets different experiences and levels of understanding for sure, but I have never had anyone tell me they hated the experience.  I would certainly keep younger kids in the before nap time classes as it can be a lot of running around and gathering items.
